OCR: Imperator - (c) 1994 A strategy game - for all folgas A crossed personal cheque (Punts or Sterling) is the best. Otherwise send $10 or DM15 in cash or International Money Order. For this small fee, as well as your licence to use this program, you get a disk with: (1) Holonaze - 30 maze puzzle. This program simulates "hollou maze", where three tuo dimensional nazes on the surface of a hollow cube must be solved simultaneously. Ch six-pronged object inside the cabe must follow the (2) Source cole for Holonasze (Anos 1.3 compatible). The final version includes some small machine code sections (assembly source for these Included, along with original Anos source). (3) Source code for Imperator (hmos 1.3 compatible). Well, I hope you think that is good value! Comments and bug reports welcome (sort of). I've tested the game pretty thoroughly on 6500 and A1200, and hope no bugs have slipped through the net. I'll define this as V1.1 (May '94) - V1.0 was not released. Winning the game! To win the gane, you must control the entire world (or whatever part of it appears on the nap). When this occurs, you will be given the choice of playing on forever or starting a meu game. (Playing on, you will still have to contend with plagues, which may in turn let In riuals and barbarians. ) You cannot win If there Is currently a plague epidemic. wewent etc .: More about novenent etc. : (SPACE KEY> Skip a turn for current (flashing) legion. CENTER KEY> Don't nove this legion straight away, go onto the next and nove this one later (in the sane turn). SENTRY DUTY (nem or S) Put this legion to sleep for a while. Click on it while in Wake-up node to bring it back to normal. MAKE-UP MODE (nenu) See Sentry. This is the nornal node. You can toggle betuces this and Identify mode by selecting this nem iten. IDENTIFY MODE (nenu) When this is selected, clicking on a legion brings up details of the legion Instead. You can't wake up legions while in this node. REPEAT: these two nodes toggle. If you are in one, the OTHER will appear as a nemu selection. GOTO MODE (menu) Select this when a legion is to nove. Then click on the square it is to nove to. It will plod along, waking up to look for orders only if it gets lost or confused (e.g. if it has to go around an obstacle or across the sea, or attack the eneny). Legions in this node are not too snart! Legions in goto node can be woken up like those on sentry duty. They don't move until the end of your turn, so you can wake then if (say) a sudden plague forces a change in your strategie plans. TRANSPARENT (nem or I) Lost track of ports and fortresses, or even the Capitalt Select this to see through the legions. Other options! SAUE - just like any other program. Select a filenane and save the gane on any device. LOAD option is offered then a meu game is started. The homely but functional anos file-requester is used. Asterisks represent directories: the little circle in the top left represents the parent directory. By pressing the Right mouse button. you will find devices such as floppies etc. If you try to load something other than a saved gane, the program nay terminate (it won't crash), I couldn't get the error trapping to work reliably Cit tended to by out when trying to load perfectly valid files), so I thought I'd leave it up to you. At least you can't lose ang data this uwy - just start again and load the correct Tile. DIFFICULTY - Select difficulty or mobility as above. austonise the gane rules to set yourself a special Ur challenge. Mote that difficulty waries with the nap as well as with the rules, so certain maps are much harder to conquer than others. In my experience, the one with a ig sea in the middle is the toughest - the British Isles and Europe are also quite hard, bit strangely enough the whole world map is not so difficult. Dictator level will give tough but winnable gane. Emperor level is very hard but can be won - though you may need luck! Customising the game; Normally the rules of the gane are automatically adjusted to take into account the difficulty level and the obility selection. Here you can modify the rules of the entire gane! Customise Napi Im EDIT MAP mode, you can start with all land, all sea, or the previous nap. The left mouse button raises land from the sea, and the right button does the opposite. Mo sans required. You can decorate the edges by clicking outside the borders of the nap, but these umcen territories will have no effect on the game. When you are finished, click on the OK button. Your gane will take place on the new map, At the start of your next gane, select LAST MAP to play on this nap again. As with custom rules, the map is saved when you save a gane, so you can preserve your creations. Hints: Build your Capital somewhere central, in a smallish lace that can be defended. Oddly enough, Bone is a pretty good choice on the Europe nap! Build defensive lines (fortresses or legions) taking advantage of sea barriers. Don't waste your limited supply of fortresses and ports, but don't be afraid either to use sone early when they can be of nost innodiate benefit. Leave defenders behind your borders to deal with plagues - otherwise these will result in rapidly-spreading areas of barbarism. Pick good spots and put then on Sentry duty. Plaques can sometimes be taken advantage of, if you are bit of a Machiavelli. Credits :
